Spots on the projected image can most commonly be due to an issue with the DMD chip.

These spots can show up as white or black spots and will resemble dead or bright pixels like the ones on a monitor. This kind of problem cannot be fixed by the end user. This means that the projector will have to be shipped in for an RMA for repair.

If the problem looks more like “shadows” on the projected image then it could mean that there is an issue with the light pipe in the projector and would also have to be shipped back for repair.
