This guide provides step-by-step instructions for formatting a USB drive to the FAT32 file system on both Windows and Mac OS.


IMPORTANT:
The FAT32 file system will only be available for USB drives up to 32GB.


Instructions:

  • Windows
    1. Insert your USB drive into your PC.
    2. Click on the File Explorer icon located in the Taskbar.
    3. Right-click on your USB drive. Select Format.
    4. In the format window, choose FAT32 from the file system options. Then, press Start.


  • macOS
    1. Insert the USB drive to the Mac PC.
    2. Open your Finder
    3. Navigate to Applications -> Utilities. Click twice to open it.
    4. Open Disk Utility
    5. Select the drive you want to format and click on Erase.
    6. Rename the USB drive (optional) and choose the MS-DOS(FAT) for format.
    7. Once the process is done, you are ready to reuse the drive with the FAT32 file system to save data again.
