How to set up Windows without an ethernet connection or WIFI enabled.

 

Please use any Windows Compatible External USB WIFI module with the VPC to access a WIFI network. After the unit has been set up, the internal WIFI module will be enabled and the external module will no longer be needed. 


If no ethernet access is available to activate Windows on a VPC, and WIFI is disabled, please follow the instructions below.

 

1. On the network the connection setup press (Shift+F10)

2. The Command Prompt window will pop up.

3. Type the command "OOBE\BYPASSNRO" and press enter.

4. The unit will restart. Once you reach network setup select " I don't have internet "

5. Select "Continue with limited setup"

6. Select " Accept"

7. When on the Windows desktop, select your network and manually input your WiFi.

8. Windows is now set up and user accounts can now be added. 



If you wish to perform the Out-of-Box setup again using Windows login follow the next steps. 


  • Press the Windows Key +R to open the run dialog
  • Type %WINDIR%\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe and select OK
  • Choose to return to OOBE and restart the computer
