Issue
When connecting a media device, such as a cable box, DVD player, or Blu-ray player, through HDMI, there is video but no audio.
Solution
Verify that the Digital Audio Output setting of the cable box/video player and change the setting to another option such as HDMI, STEREO, or PCM. Please refer to your cable box's/video player's user guide for specific instructions.
Certain cable boxes/video players may default the Digital Audio Output to formats like Dolby Digital, which requires the display to have a compatible decoder.
