"No Signal" indicates that the display (monitor, projector, etc) is not detecting a signal on the selected input source.  Most ViewSonic Displays and Projectors will automatically detect a signal on a video input.  However, some models may not have the auto-detection feature or may have it disabled.  Please refer to the product's User Guide for specifics.

Troubleshooting

Check Cables

  • Not all USB-C ports on source devices support video output. Check with manufacturer of your device. USB Type-C refers to the connector type, not the capability of the port itself. Video over USB Type-C requires the hardware source to support specific USB-C alt mode protocols and that the cable at minimum supports USB-C 3.2 Gen1

  • Check all the cables. Whether you are using VGA, DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort to connect your computer to your display, cables can sometimes become detached. This is especially true for cables that don’t screw into the back of a display.  Make sure you check the connection at the PC and on the display.

  • If you have a dedicated graphics card, make sure the display is connected to the graphics card and not to the motherboard video connection. By default, Windows is supposed to disable the motherboard graphics automatically when you have a separate graphics card, but sometimes this doesn’t happen.

  • Try the display with another computer.

  • Try replacing the video cable or using a different video cable if you have multiple connections options like DVI, HDMI, etc. If using VGA works, then it could mean there is an issue with your HDMI or DVI cable.
