Displays equipped with Tempered Safety Glass
Issue:
The tempered safety glass randomly shattered.
Description:
ViewSonic® ViewBoard® interactive displays are designed with incredibly strong tempered glass, similar to car windows.
However, under certain stressors and circumstances, it is possible for this glass to shatter. With that in mind, tempered glass is still a safer and more durable type of glass that is designed to break into small, non-sharp particles upon impact, greatly reducing the risk of injury.
Should your ViewBoard display ever suffer any sort of structural damage that causes even the smallest chip or crack, the entire sheet of glass can be weakened. This makes it more likely to break later, especially with changes in temperature. Imagine a hot glass cracking when you pour cold water into it – a weakened ViewBoard screen can react similarly.
The crack will usually start where it was first damaged and spread from there. Sometimes damage from manufacturing can cause the glass to shatter all at once, but this is rare.
Rest assured that ViewBoard® displays are built tough and are certified with IEC 62368.
If your ViewBoard® display is cracked and no longer under warranty, please contact our ViewSonic's customer support team for further assistance. They might be able to offer some options.
