Overview

The ViewSonic VSD243‑BKA‑US0 is an Android‑based Smart Display designed to operate as a standalone device running Android 8.1. Its touchscreen hardware is internally connected to the Android operating system and is not exposed to Windows through HDMI or USB. As a result, the device cannot function as a Windows touch monitor.


When connected to a Windows PC via HDMI, the VSD243 works strictly as a standard external display. Windows will not detect any touch input, and no HID‑compliant touch device will appear in Device Manager. Because of this architecture, no Windows touch drivers exist or are required for this model. Symptoms

  • The VSD243 touchscreen does not respond when connected to a Windows PC

  • Windows does not detect any touch input or HID‑compliant touch device

  • Users search for or request Windows touch drivers for the VSD243‑BKA‑US0

  • Touch works normally in Android mode but not when using the device as an external touch display

  • USB Type‑B connection does not enable touch control on Windows



Cause

The VSD243‑BKA‑US0 is an Android‑based Smart Display, not a Windows touch monitor. Its touchscreen hardware is internally connected to the Android operating system and is not exposed to Windows through HDMI or USB.

Because of this design:

  • Touch signals cannot be transmitted to Windows

  • Windows cannot recognize the device as a touch‑enabled monitor

  • No Windows HID touch driver can enable touch functionality

Therefore, Windows touch drivers do not exist for this model.



Resolution

There is no driver or software that can enable touch functionality on Windows for the VSD243‑BKA‑US0.



Additional Notes

  • The VSD243 will still function as a standard external monitor when connected to Windows via HDMI

  • USB connections support file transfer only (via standard Windows MTP)

  • The webcam, microphone, and touch panel are controlled exclusively by Android and are not available to Windows

  • This limitation is hardware‑based and cannot be changed through firmware updates or drivers
