Enabling Full-Screen Mode in Android Browser

Modified on Fri, 10 Oct, 2025 at 3:52 PM

Description: To utilize a browser that can hide the address bar, hide access to system functions, and can provide a full screen experience.

Solution:  The built-in Android browser does not support full-screen mode or the ability to hide the address bar. To achieve this functionality and restrict access to system features, a third-party application such as Fully Kiosk Browser can be used.

This is a third-party application and is not officially supported by ViewSonic.

Here is the information for Fully Kiosk Browser. This is the main website, the download section.

To install:
  • Navigate to the home screen > Settings Icon > Device > Signage Display > Enable the "Allow Installation from Unknown Sources" option - Model Dependant
  • Insert the USB drive with the installation .apk file on it
  • Open the folders application and navigate to the USB drive, open the .apk file, and install
