Notice: Google Drive Binding Issue on myViewBoard.com

We are currently experiencing an issue with Google Drive integration on myViewBoard.com

Users attempting to bind their Google Drive accounts may encounter a “be blocked” error message.

Root Cause

This issue stems from Google’s recent updates to its SSO security policies, which now require a re-approval process for certain application permissions. As a result, our app is undergoing review to regain the necessary scopes for accessing Google Drive.

Who is Affected

  • Existing users who have already connected their Google Drive can continue using the integration without disruption.
  • Google Workspace users who have previously marked myViewBoard as a trusted app will also not be affected.
  • However, individual users (non-Workspace accounts) attempting to re-bind Google Drive may encounter blocked access due to the unapproved scopes.

Estimated Resolution Time

Based on previous experience with Google’s review process, approval typically takes 3–5 business days. We will update you as soon as access is restored.

Updates:

Announcement: Google Drive Binding Service Restored

Thank you for your patience. The Google Drive integration service on myViewBoard.com has now been fully restored.

Due to recent updates in Google’s security policies for third-party apps, we were required to resubmit the myViewBoard application for review. As part of this process, we made the following adjustments:

  • Updated Permission Scope:
    • Changed from Full Access to Read-only Access for Google Drive.
    • This change ensures ongoing compliance with Google's revised security requirements.

Impact on Users

  • Existing Bound Accounts:
    • Users who already had Google Drive bound to their myViewBoard account are not affected and can continue using the integration as usual.
    • However, once the current token expires, users will need to rebind their Google account via myViewBoard.com.
  • New or Rebinding Accounts:
    • The updated read-only permission will apply, which may affect file operations:
      • Users may not be able to edit or overwrite files that were not originally created via myViewBoard applications, such as shared documents from others.
      • In such cases, we recommend using the "Save as" option to create a new copy of the file.
