A. Remove Any Previous Installations
1. Older or partial installs can block the setup
- Go to Control Panel → Programs & Features
- Uninstall:
- myViewBoard
- myViewBoard Whiteboard
- Any ViewSonic-related apps
2. Then delete leftover folders:
C:\Program Files\ViewSonic\
C:\Program Files (x86)\ViewSonic\
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ViewSonic\
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ViewSonic\
B. Check Required Components
Make sure these are installed and up to date:
- .NET Framework 4.8
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables (2015–2022)
C. Temporarily Disable Security Software
1. Some antiviruses or system protections can block the installation
- Temporarily disable antivirus
- Turn off controlled folder access (if enabled)
- Re-enable after installation
2. Verify Windows Installer Service
- Press Windows + R → type services.msc
- Locate Windows Installer
- Ensure it is running
3. Advanced (If Issue Persists)
Run install with logging:
msiexec /i myviewboard.msi /L*v install.log
- Look for errors like “Return value 3” in the log
